By messaging or transacting with LulamisaPay on WhatsApp, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
LulamisaPay facilitates payments for prepaid electricity, traffic fines, airtime and data, and municipal accounts, with the option to pay in full or through your own third-party Buy Now Pay Later account. LulamisaPay is a payment intermediary, not a credit provider — any credit assessment, repayment plan and associated terms are determined by your chosen BNPL provider.
Buy Now Pay Later is provided by your chosen third-party BNPL provider, not by LulamisaPay. Any affordability or eligibility check, and the decision to approve or decline, is performed by that provider under their own terms — LulamisaPay has no part in that decision and cannot guarantee approval.
Any fees applicable to a transaction are shown in the chat before you confirm payment, before you're asked to pay anything.
When you choose to pay through a Buy Now Pay Later provider, your repayment schedule, reminders, and any consequences of a missed installment are governed by the agreement between you and that provider — not LulamisaPay. Please review your BNPL provider's terms before confirming.
You're responsible for providing accurate information (such as meter numbers or fine reference numbers). LulamisaPay is not liable for payments made to an incorrect account due to information you provided.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance or upstream provider outages (e.g. Eskom, mobile networks) may occasionally delay transactions.
To the extent permitted by law, LulamisaPay is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, beyond the value of the transaction in question.
You are responsible for keeping your device, WhatsApp account, and security PIN secure. LulamisaPay is not liable for any loss, damage, or unauthorised transaction arising from fraud, theft, SIM-swap, phishing, a lost or shared device, compromised third-party payment or Buy Now Pay Later credentials, or any other unauthorised or fraudulent use of the service, whether or not you were aware of it.
We do, however, take fraud seriously and apply reasonable, best-effort controls to detect and reduce it — including transaction limits, holds on higher-risk payments for review, and blocking of suspicious accounts. These measures are provided on a best-effort basis only and are not a guarantee against fraud. Where fraud or unauthorised use is reported or suspected, we will cooperate with you and with the relevant authorities and, on lawful request, assist by providing information we hold that may help investigate or resolve the matter.
You agree to notify us immediately at the contact details below if you suspect any unauthorised or fraudulent activity on your account.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
